Basketball Recap: Casey-Westfield Warriors vs. Arcola Purple Riders
After flying high against Okaw Valley last Saturday, Casey-Westfield came back down to earth. The Casey-Westfield Warriors took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arcola Purple Riders on Monday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Purple Riders recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Casey-Westfield lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jayla Roberts, who posted 14 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Those five assists gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Moore, who earned 13 points and eight rebounds.
It was another big night for Kacie Sisk, who almost dropped a double-double with 24 points and nine boards for Arcola. That makes it six consecutive games in which Sisk has scored at least a third of Arcola's points. Another player making a difference was Ava Simpson, who had 12 points and eight rebounds.
Casey-Westfield's loss dropped their record down to 11-22. As for Arcola, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-9.
Casey-Westfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Arcola, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-57 victory against Tuscola on the 20th.
