Volleyball Recap: Athens Takes a Loss

Athens had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 7-16 to make it four. They came up short against the Phillips Loggers, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bluejays of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

As for Phillips, the victory snapped their losing streak at four matches and leaves them with a 6-13 record. The match marked their most dominant win of the season.

Raelee Williams was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 25 digs and one assist. Those 25 digs gave her a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Athens will challenge Rib Lake at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Phillips, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Bruce on the 27th.
