The Tinora Rams will challenge the Van Buren Black Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Tinora will be strutting in after a win while Van Buren will be coming in after a defeat.
Tinora took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Elmwood a 10-0 shutout. The Rams not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3rd (when they won 22-2).
Zoe Billings was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Billings was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Madison Spangler was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Paige Gamby was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Tinora was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elmwood only posted a batting average of .158.
Meanwhile, Van Buren came up short against Elmwood on Wednesday, falling 16-3.
Van Buren's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7. As for Tinora, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.
Everything went Tinora's way against Van Buren in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Tinora made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Black Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
