Basketball Recap: Kendrick Takes a Loss

Kendrick has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a blow against the Carver Tigers on Thursday, falling 103-34. The Cherokees were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 62-19.

Carver's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tony Montgomery led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 assists. That's the most assists Montgomery has posted since back in November of 2024. Izaian Da Cruz Rosegreen was another key player, going 9 of 12 on his way to 19 points and seven rebounds.

Kendrick's loss dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Carver, they pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Kendrick didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-45 defeat against Sumter County on the 31st. Carver has also already played their next game, an 84-58 win against Spencer on the 31st.
