With a playoff win on the line, Palmetto rose to the challenge on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Sickles Gryphons, sneaking past 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Gryphons on Wednesday, they had to take a 9-1 loss.

Palmetto got a great performance from Clayton Williams as he pitched six innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Landon Henderson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Keaton Love, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Palmetto is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-19 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Sickles, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 21-8 record.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Gryphons beat Palmetto by a score of 11-6 on Saturday.
