Softball Game Preview: Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors vs. Mt. Pleasant Cardinals

Yerba Buena is on a three-game streak of home losses, and Mt. Pleasant a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Wednesday. The Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mt. Pleasant Cardinals at 4:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Yerba Buena came up short against Independence on Monday, falling 22-7. That's two games in a row now that the Aztec Warriors have lost by exactly 15 runs.

Meanwhile, Mt. Pleasant lost 21-11 to San Jose on Friday. While the Cardinals didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 6-2 in the first period.

Inez Zamora and Emma Garcia stepped up to the plate in a big way. Zamora scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Garcia scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Zamora is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ana Arevalo, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Yerba Buena, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
