The Patriots blew past the Hornets 14-8 on Wednesday. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.
Colby Curtiss looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ryan Spiess was incredible, scoring three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Bartlett, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
Great Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .303 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Bishop Shanahan suffered their closest loss since April 15, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Downingtown East by a score of 5-3. The Eagles have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Bishop Shanahan saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Scott, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. That run marked the first that Scott scored this season.
Bishop Shanahan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Great Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Bishop Shanahan's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Great Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .499. It's a different story for Bishop Shanahan, though, as they've only averaged .287. Will they be able to contain Great Valley's hitters?
