Softball Recap: Saturday's Win Is Marshall's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

Marshall proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 14) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, sneaking past 3-2.

Marshall saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyla Gustafson, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Lynn Welborn, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Marshall is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg, their loss ended an 18-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 23-6.

As of now, neither Marshall nor Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg have any future games scheduled.
