Baseball Game Preview: Hempstead Bobcats vs. Navasota Rattlers

The Hempstead Bobcats are taking a road trip to square off against the Navasota Rattlers at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Hempstead barely beat Snook the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Hempstead never let Snook get on the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Friday. The Bobcats not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since February 21st.

Meanwhile, Navasota came tearing into Saturday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They beat the Gators by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4.

The team relied heavily on Kyle Taylor, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Cash Fox, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Navasota always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Navasota now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Hempstead, their record now sits at 4-7.
