Softball Recap: Tonopah Valley Comes Up Short

Tonopah Valley lost against Phoenix Christian on March 12th, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Tonopah Valley came up short against Phoenix Christian, falling 15-5. That's two games in a row now that the Phoenix have lost by exactly ten runs.

Ellie Procunier was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Shiloh Walker, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

This is the second loss in a row for Tonopah Valley and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for Phoenix Christian, their win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tonopah Valley will face off against Glendale Prep Academy at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tonopah Valley's pitchers better be ready for this one: Glendale Prep Academy has averaged an impressive 13.5 runs per game this season. As for Phoenix Christian, they will square off against San Miguel at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. San Miguel has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 22.33 runs per game on average), something Phoenix Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
