Softball Recap: Centerville Takes Down Mason in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Centerville rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Mason Comets 6-5. The win was familiar territory for the Elks, who have now won seven games in a row.

The team relied heavily on Natalie Carr, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Olivia Castle, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Centerville's victory bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Mason, their loss dropped their record down to 10-4.

Looking ahead, Centerville will face off against Fairmont at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Elks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. Mason does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
