Basketball Recap: Mission Veterans Memorial's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Mission Veterans Memorial needed a changed in momentum after dropping three straight games and they got it from Caylie Montalvo. The Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots took down the Juarez-Lincoln Huskies 62-47 on Tuesday thanks in part to Montalvo, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Mission Veterans Memorial's points.

Another player making a difference was Isabella Canizalez, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds. Canizalez is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season.

The victory got Mission Veterans Memorial back to even at 13-13. As for Juarez-Lincoln, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-21.

Mission Veterans Memorial will venture away from home to face off against Cigarroa at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Juarez-Lincoln has already played their next match (against Nixon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
