Basketball Game Preview: IKM/Manning Wolves vs. Treynor Cardinals

IKM/Manning is 1-9 against Treynor since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wolves will be home for the holidays to greet the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, IKM/Manning came up short against Underwood and fell 62-55. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Eagles are ranked fourth).

Meanwhile, Treynor put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 76-34 win over Clarinda. Treynor has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

IKM/Manning's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Treynor, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.

IKM/Manning was taken down by Treynor 65-36 in their previous matchup back in January. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
