Softball Recap: Osawatomie Comes Up Short

Osawatomie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Iola Mustangs, falling 11-2. The Trojans were not able to make up for their loss to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Osawatomie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gracie Fanning, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. That home run marked the first that Fanning has launched this season. Kaylee Johns was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Osawatomie suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 3-8. As for Iola, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Mustangs beat Osawatomie by a score of 14-4 later that day.
