Softball Recap: University Prep Wins Going Away Against Victor Valley

University Prep won the last time they faced Victor Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. Everything went the University Prep Jaguars' way against the Victor Valley Jackrabbits as the University Prep Jaguars made off with a 15-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Jaguars.

Brie (Brieana) Villenueva made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Saidy Gonzalez and Sophia Perea did most of the damage at the plate: Gonzalez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Perea scored three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Gonzalez has posted since back in March of 2024. Paityn Zimmerman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

University Prep's record is now 2-0.

University Prep has already played their next contest, a 9-4 win against Excelsior Charter on the 24th. As for Victor Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 5-1 loss against Hesperia on the 22nd.
