Softball Recap: Valley Head Gets the Win

Valley Head saw some tournament action on Friday. They blew past the Westbrook Christian Warriors 12-2.

Adleigh Lockett made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Lockett was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Raegan Key and Olivia Harrison did most of the damage at the plate: Key went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Harrison went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs Harrison has posted since back in April of 2025. Lexi Coffman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Valley Head was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .474. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .361 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Valley Head's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Westbrook Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-3.

Coming up, Valley Head will be taking part in a tournament against Asbury at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Westbrook Christian, they will take on Weaver in a tournament on Saturday.
