Baseball Recap: Liberty Finds Home Field Redemption Against Estacado

There's no place like home for Liberty, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. Everything went their way against the Estacado Matadors on Tuesday as they made off with a 15-5 win. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 10-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Will Hutson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Garrett Rowden was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Liberty hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four strikeouts batters in nine consecutive matches.

Liberty's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-8. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Estacado, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 7-10-1.

Liberty has already played their next contest, a 13-1 victory against Big Spring on the 21st. As for Estacado, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-1 defeat against Lake View on the 21st.
