Flag Football Recap: Ava George Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Hillgrove

McEachern never let their opponents score on Monday. Everything went their way against the Hillgrove Hawks as they made off with a 26-0 win. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Hawks are ranked 176th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

McEachern's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava George, who threw for 173 yards and three touchdowns. Another pass catcher making a difference was Ava Couzens, who picked up 27 receiving yards and one score.

Another reason for the win was McEachern's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Anais Fraser. She is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted three or more in each of the last three games she's played.

McEachern's record now sits at 9-0. As for Hillgrove, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.

McEachern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 28-0 victory against South Cobb on the 3rd. As for Hillgrove, they will face off against Wheeler at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
