Game recap: Manteca High School Football Team defeats Sierra

Alex Laurel ran for four touchdowns to lift Manteca (Calif.) to a 35-14 beat over Sierra (Manteca, Calif.). Thanks to solid play, the senior now has 28 touchdowns for the year.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Laurel in the second quarter, the Buffaloes led 21-7 at the half.

Manteca expanded its lead to 20 points entering the fourth quarter. MHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown.

With the win the Buffaloes extended their winning streak to seven games. Manteca defeated Weston Ranch 79-8 last week.

Manteca had given up an average of 15.4 points prior to the contest. The 14 points that the Timberwolves ended with were well below their average of 41.0 coming into the game.



The loss comes after Sierra defeated East Union 37-3 last week.

Sierra (6-3) goes up against Weston Ranch in a Valley Oak League game matchup next week, while Manteca (8-1) locks horns with East Union also in a Valley Oak League game.
