Baseball Recap: Cinnaminson Wins Going Away Against Haddon Township

Cinnaminson had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Haddon Township on Wednesday. The Pirates blew past the Hawks 8-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Pirates have posted against the Hawks since April 4, 2015.

Anthony Melchiorre tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over 5.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Cinnaminson is undefeated when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jude Zarnowski, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Those hits were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Logan Hammell, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Cinnaminson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
