Football Game Preview: Bogue Chitto Bobcats vs. Mount Olive Pirates + Official Tickets

Bogue Chitto is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They will head out on the road to face off against the Mount Olive Pirates at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Bogue Chitto's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last three games.

On Thursday, Bogue Chitto got the win against Enterprise by a conclusive 38-16. The result was nothing new for the Bobcats, who have now won three contests by 22 points or more so far this season.

Jayden Poole continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 177 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also picking up 40 receiving yards. He has become a key player for Bogue Chitto: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.

Poole was just one part of a punishing run game: Bogue Chitto was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 248 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 248 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Mount Olive scored the most points they've had this season last Friday, but it wasn't enough. They and St. Andrew's Episcopal were almost perfectly matched up, but the Pirates suffered a 25-24 loss. Despite 97 more yards than the Saints, the Pirates couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Bogue Chitto has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.2 points over those games. As for Mount Olive, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Bogue Chitto couldn't quite get it done against Mount Olive in their previous meeting back in September of 2021 as they fell 34-23. Can the Bobcats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
