Basketball Recap: Irvington Comes Up Short

Irvington was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 46-36 to the Campolindo Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 805th, while the Cougars are ranked 70th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Campolindo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Max Robeson, who posted four points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The dominant performance gave Robeson a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Gavin Rendle, who scored eight points and three steals.

Irvington's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Campolindo, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Irvington has already played their next matchup (against Moreau Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Campolindo has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Northgate.
