Basketball Recap: Reavis Gets the Win

Reavis had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They escaped with a win on Tuesday against the Richards Bulldogs by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 39-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Reavis' win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-15. As for Richards, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season.

Reavis and Richards could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Reavis (ranked 507th) will meet Shepard (ranked 230th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Reavis is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. Similarly, Richards will challenge Oak Lawn at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday down 336 places (506 vs. 170).
