Basketball Recap: Marshall Comes Up Short

Marshall lost against Stevens back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Marshall Rams were beaten by the Stevens Falcons 68-39.

Despite the loss, Marshall still got an impressive performance from Jason Vidaurri, who posted five points in addition to eight assists and eight rebounds. Vidaurri has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Jalon Howerton was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.

Stevens got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Richard Guerra out in front who went 7-for-13 en route to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Jose Ochoa, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Marshall has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 12-22 record this season. As for Stevens, their victory bumped their record up to 14-17.

As of now, neither Marshall nor Stevens have any future games scheduled.
