Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Center Tigers vs. Fairlawn Jets

The Jackson Center Tigers will head out to challenge the Fairlawn Jets at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Jackson Center is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against St. Henry on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Jackson Center was outmatched by St. Henry and fell 68-30. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 330th, while the Redskins are ranked 52nd).

Meanwhile, Fairlawn was not able to break out of their rough patch last Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Anna, falling 52-28.

Fairlawn's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Jackson Center, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-6.

Everything came up roses for Jackson Center against Fairlawn when the teams last played back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 52-19 victory. In that game, Jackson Center amassed a halftime lead of 32-12, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Saturday.
