Softball Recap: St. Anthony's Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

St. Anthony extended their postseason success on Friday against St. Joseph-by-the-Sea. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Vikings. The Friars haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Melissa Gordon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits.

On the hitting side, Makayla Martinez was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. Sophia Erker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

St. Anthony's pushed their record up to 25-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph-by-the-Sea, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-2.

As of now, neither St. Anthony's nor the Vikings have any future games scheduled.
