The James Monroe Mavericks entered their tilt with the Nicholas County Grizzlies with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. James Monroe strolled past Nicholas County with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-12. That's another feather in the cap for James Monroe, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
James Monroe's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Nicholas County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-5.
James Monroe will take on Bluefield at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Bluefield is ranked 36th, while James Monroe is ranked 32nd). As for Nicholas County, they will take on PikeView at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. PikeView comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
