Soccer Game Preview: Granite Hills vs. Silverado

The Granite Hills Cougars will square off against the Silverado Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Granite Hills sitting on eight straight wins and Silverado on three.

Granite Hills' defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Centennial.

Acxel Jimenez was the driving force of Granite Hills' attack as he scored both of Granite Hills' goals, bringing his season total up to 11 goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Silverado). They ended the year with a bang, routing Eisenhower 4-1 on Monday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Granite Hills' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those five matches. As for Silverado, their victory bumped their record up to 5-10-2.

Everything went Granite Hills' way against Silverado when the teams last played back in January of 2024, as Granite Hills made off with a 6-0 win. Will Granite Hills repeat their success, or does Silverado have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
