Basketball Game Preview: Gateway Eagles vs. Aubrey Rogers Patriots

The Gateway Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Aubrey Rogers Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gateway knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Aubrey Rogers likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Gateway strolled past Gulf Coast with points to spare, taking the game 64-46.

Gateway got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Andrew Leopold out in front who went 8 for 12 en route to 20 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Davis, who posted 19 points.

Meanwhile, Aubrey Rogers ended up a good deal behind Fort Myers on Tuesday and lost 63-48. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Gateway has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.1 points per game. As for Aubrey Rogers, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-18.
