Basketball Recap: Birchwood Has No Trouble Against Bayfield

Birchwood won the last time they faced Bayfield and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Birchwood Bobcats put the hurt on the Bayfield Trollers with a sharp 55-35 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bobcats have posted since November 22, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Bayfield lost, don't look at Stella Gordon. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 16 points and 16 rebounds. Gordon is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games she's played.

Birchwood's victory bumped their record up to 4-14. As for Bayfield, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-19.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Birchwood will take on Cornell at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Bayfield, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Butternut at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
