Baseball Recap: Elverado Comes Up Short

Elverado fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Agape Christian on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 13-12. The Falcons just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Elverado saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trevor Brooks, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles.

Elverado's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-11. As for Agape Christian, they pushed their record up to 3-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elverado will host Norris City-Omaha-Enfield at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Fighting Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.89 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Agape Christian, they will take on Eldorado at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
