Baseball Recap: Petersburg Comes Up Short

Petersburg lost against O'Donnell back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Petersburg Buffaloes lost 13-5 to the O'Donnell Eagles.

Malachi Sedillo was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing four bases while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Saul Ruiz, who scored two runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Even though they lost, Petersburg was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .357 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Petersburg now has a losing record of 1-2. As for O'Donnell, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Petersburg will square off against Ralls at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ralls' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Petersburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them. We've got a battle between Eagles coming up.
