Recap: Boone Grove vs. Indianapolis Lighthouse East

Boone Grove had a rough outing against Griffith last Friday, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. Boone Grove took their contest against Indianapolis Lighthouse East on Friday by a conclusive 48-14 score. Followers of Boone Grove probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.

Boone Grove got off to a slow start in their last-week game, but they had no such trouble against Indianapolis Lighthouse East and cruised to a 41-point first half. Meanwhile, Indianapolis Lighthouse East couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 41-0 heading into the break. Boone Grove were outperformed in the second half 7-14 but had enough in reserve to walk away with the win.

Junior Braeton Vann was the offensive standout of the match for Boone Grove, as he rushed for 156 yards and 3 touchdowns. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse junior Andrew Eriks, who racked up ten tackles. The win bumped Boone Grove's record up to 5-2. The defeat dropped Indianapolis Lighthouse East's record to 1-3.

Next week Boone Grove take on Wheeler at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams seek to continue their momentum from their previous wins. Indianapolis Lighthouse East will be staying on the road, facing off against Indianapolis Washington.
