Basketball Game Preview: Marian Catholic Spartans vs. Carmel Corsairs

Marian Catholic has gone 8-2 against Carmel recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Spartans just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Corsairs at 7:00 p.m. Marian Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.3 points per game this season.

Marian Catholic took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 61-31 win over Unity Christian Academy. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 24 points or more this season.

Ty Jackson produced another solid performance putting up ten points along with eight steals and six rebounds. Jackson is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Nyila Williams, who posted 11 points and five boards.

Marian Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Carmel entered their tilt with Phillips on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 52-42 victory over the Wildcats. 52 seems to be a good number for the Corsairs as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Marian Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Marian Catholic didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Carmel in their previous matchup back in February, but they still walked away with a 36-30 victory. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Corsairs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
