Baseball Game Preview: Palmetto Christian Academy vs. Northwood Academy Chargers

Palmetto Christian Academy will take on the Northwood Academy Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Palmetto Christian Academy's hitters has struggled lately (they haven't scored a run in three consecutive games), something the team is no doubt ready to change.

Palmetto Christian Academy's last matchup with Northwood Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Monday. Palmetto Christian Academy lost 10-0 to Northwood Academy.

For Northwood Academy's part, Jhett Dungan was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Dungan also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Northwood Academy is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-6 otherwise. Dungan was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double.

Dungan wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Zach Welch, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Jack Singleton also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

With the victory, Northwood Academy broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-7. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
