Basketball Game Preview: Union Knights/Damsels vs. Keystone Panthers

Union hasn't had much luck against Keystone recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Union Knights/Damsels are taking a road trip to face off against the Keystone Panthers at 7:30 p.m.

Union is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Thursday. They were beaten by Brookville 57-22. The Knights/Damsels were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 30-9.

Despite the loss, Union had strong showings from Maddy Dehart, who posted seven points in addition to nine boards and four steals, and Kya Wetzel, who earned five points and six rebounds. Dehart has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Meanwhile, Keystone came tearing into Saturday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 65-61 victory over the Raiders.

Keystone is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.1 points per game. As for Union, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Union came up short against Keystone when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 56-46. Can Union avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
