Basketball Recap: Olivet Takes a Loss

Olivet lost against Portland back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Olivet Eagles were outmatched by the Portland Raiders and fell 58-28. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 417th, while the Raiders are ranked 43rd).

Olivet has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Portland, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Olivet will square off against Hanover-Horton at 5:30 p.m. on January 31st. Olivet is facing Hanover-Horton at the right time seeing as Hanover-Horton is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Portland, they will face off against Fowlerville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
