Soccer Recap: Cienega Continues Home Dominance on Friday

With a playoff win on the line, Cienega rose to the challenge on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Maricopa Rams a 1-0 shutout. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona soccer rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Rams are ranked 87th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cienega's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those five matchups. As for Maricopa, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
