Soccer Game Preview: North Central vs. Clarkston

The North Central Wolfpack will square off against the Clarkston Bantams at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

North Central fell victim to West Valley and their airtight defense on Thursday. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 1-0. While losing is never fun, North Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 99th, while West Valley are ranked 12th).

Meanwhile, Clarkston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of East Valley. The game was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Clarkston couldn't quite close it out.

Clarkston's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for North Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season.

North Central took their win against Clarkston in their previous meeting back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 8-0. Will North Central repeat their success, or does Clarkston has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
