Soccer Game Preview: Carson vs. Gardena

The Carson Colts are taking a road trip to challenge the Gardena Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Carson has three straight wins, Gardena has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Last Friday, Carson sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over San Pedro. Given the Colts' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while the Pirates are ranked 751st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Nathan Garcia and Ethan Torres scored both of Carson's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 31 goals.

Meanwhile, Gardena came up short against Banning on Friday and fell 3-1.

Carson's win bumped their record up to 13-4-2. As for Gardena, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10-2.
