Football Recap: West Ouachita Comes Up Short

After flying high against Winnfield last Friday, West Ouachita came back down to earth. The Chiefs were outmatched by the Sterlington Panthers and fell 49-8. The Chiefs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

J-Rob Breen was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 122 yards and three touchdowns on only six passes. Those three passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high.

West Ouachita now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Sterlington, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. West Ouachita will head out to face off against Caldwell Parish at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chiefs will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 43.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sterlington, they will head out on the road to challenge Neville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
