Softball Recap: North Springs Takes a Loss

North Springs lost against Southwest DeKalb back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Spartans fell 6-3 to the Panthers. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kate Lott put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was her first of the season.

Lott wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Leila Madesko, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

North Springs' loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Southwest DeKalb, their record now sits at 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Springs will challenge Dunwoody at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches. As for Southwest DeKalb, they will welcome Alcovy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
