Baseball Recap: Exeter Find Success

While Exeter's victory against Hurley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Exeter sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over Hurley on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for Exeter in their matchups with Hurley: they've now won seven in a row.

Cameron Brattin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Brattin was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Cason Antle was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Exeter: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-16 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jax Brock, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Exeter's win bumped their record up to 9-18. As for Hurley, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-12.

Exeter will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hurley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
