Basketball Recap: Silverdale Academy's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over

It was a good run, but Silverdale Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 64-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Heritage Generals. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Seahawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 69-57 back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Silverdale Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kinsley Owen went 8 for 14 on her way to 22 points and four steals. Owen is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Ella Canter, who posted 11 points.

Silverdale Academy's loss dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Heritage, they pushed their record up to 13-4 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Silverdale Academy has already played their next game, a 57-36 win against Boyd-Buchanan on the 17th. As for Heritage, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-48 victory against Northwest Whitfield on the 17th.
