Basketball Recap: La Porte Takes a Loss

La Porte has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 74-57 fall against the Crown Point Bulldogs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Slicers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Bulldogs are ranked fourth).

When it comes to explaining why La Porte lost, don't look at Sawyer Tonagel. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points along with six boards and five assists. Tonagel is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nic Spence, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.

La Porte's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Crown Point, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

La Porte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 47-41 win against Concord on the 1st. Crown Point has also already played their next matchup, a 68-64 defeat against South Bend Washington on the 1st.
