Baseball Recap: Carroll Takes a Loss

Carroll's last matchup with Westfield could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Chargers came up short against the Shamrocks, falling 9-1. The Chargers were not able to make up for their loss to the Shamrocks from their previous meeting back in May of 2023.

Jaxon Craker made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Carroll has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-13 record this season. As for Westfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carroll will host Homestead at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Westfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
