Volleyball Recap: Brevard Christian War Eagles vs. Palm Bay Pirates
The Brevard Christian War Eagles didn't have quite enough to beat the Palm Bay Pirates on Thursday and fell 3-2.
Brevard Christian took Palm Bay into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-20, 20-25, 17-25, 15-9.
Palm Bay's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rachel Twardzik, who had seven digs. Audrey Swartz was another key player, getting eight assists and four digs.
Brevard Christian's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Palm Bay, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brevard Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off.
