Preview: Pickens County Tornadoes vs. Coosa Christian Conquerors
The Pickens County Tornadoes are on the road again on Friday and play against the Coosa Christian Conquerors at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. Pickens County's defense has only allowed 16.4 points per game this season, so Coosa Christian's offense will have their work cut out for Coosa Christian.
Pickens County had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They secured a 18-14 W over Wadley on Friday.
Santonio Jones and Kemaurion Plott were among the main playmakers for Pickens County as the former picked up 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns and the latter threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Coosa Christian put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 63-13 victory over Hackleburg. The victory was familiar territory for Coosa Christian who now have seven in a row.
Their wins bumped Pickens County to 10-3 and Wadley to 11-2.
Pickens County didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Coosa Christian when the teams last played back in November of 2022, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory. Does Pickens County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coosa Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
