Basketball Game Preview: American Fork Cavemen vs. Davis Darts

The American Fork Cavemen will head out to face off against the Davis Darts at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

American Fork took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 45-36 win over Weber. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cavemen as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Davis had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They really took it to the Longhorns for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-32 win. Given the Darts' advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while the Longhorns are ranked 95th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Davis is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for American Fork, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-8.

American Fork came up short against Davis in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 57-44. Thankfully for American Fork, Kendra Kitchen (who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 12 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
