Basketball Game Preview: Thatcher Eagles vs. Pima Roughriders

Having just played yesterday, the Thatcher Eagles will get right back to it and host the Pima Roughriders at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, Thatcher blew past Catalina, posting a 73-30 win. While fans of the Eagles might be used to big wins, the 43-point margin marked the team's biggest one yet.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pima). They simply couldn't be stopped on Monday as they easily beat Arete Prep 71-40. The victory was familiar territory for the Roughriders who have now won three games in a row.

Pima's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.6 points. As for Thatcher, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Thatcher strolled past Pima in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 by a score of 64-47. Does Thatcher have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pima turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
